Your Role: Outsourcing Manager
Role Purpose
As a member of the Business Services Support (BSS) team, the Outsourcing Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality delivery of management accounts, VAT and reporting, while also driving digital accounting adoption, system implementation and process improvement across the client base.
This role combines responsibility for client delivery, team management and digital accounting, ensuring that finance functions are efficient, scalable and supported by robust systems and processes.
The Manager will report to the BSS Department Heads and will work closely with department leadership to support delivery, improve processes and scale the BSS offering through efficient, technology-enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of clients
- Planning and reviewing management accounts, VAT returns and forecasting outputs
- Completion and analytical review of financial information
- Peer review and quality control of team output
- Managing and co-ordinating assignments across the team
- Monitoring deadlines and ensuring timely delivery of client work
- Acting as escalation point for client and team queries
- Managing client relationships, including communication, deadlines and service delivery
- Supporting development and performance of team members
- Embedding consistent processes and ways of working across the team
- Leading implementation of cloud accounting systems (e.g. Xero and integrated apps)
- Conducting software health checks and process reviews
- Identifying automation and efficiency opportunities within client finance functions
- Identifying opportunities to expand services within existing clients and other service lines.
- Supporting onboarding of new clients
- Delivering training to clients and internal teams on systems and processes
- Communicating with software providers to stay ahead of the accounting tech stack.
- Driving adoption and best practice use of digital tools across the BSS portfolio

Person Specification
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Qualified by experience would be considered.
- Significant experience in accounting, finance, or outsourced accounting services.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high-quality accounting services.
- Experience leading, developing, and motivating teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations.
- Proficient in cloud accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Sage.
- Excellent client relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and project management abilities.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to identify opportunities for business growth and service improvement.
- Proactive, client-focused, and results-driven, with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
