Your Role: Outsourcing Supervisor
Role Purpose
As a member of the Business Services Support (BSS) team, the Outsourcing Supervisor will deliver high-quality accounting and management reporting services to a portfolio of clients, acting as a key day-to-day contact and trusted advisor. The role is responsible for preparing and reviewing management accounts, overseeing and supporting junior team members, and ensuring client work is completed accurately and on time. The Accounting Outsourcing Supervisor will play a key role in driving the adoption of cloud accounting technologies, improving client finance processes, and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting. Through strong client relationships and effective team supervision, the role will contribute to the delivery of an excellent client experience and the continued growth of the outsourcing service line.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of outsourcing clients, acting as the primary day-to-day point of contact.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
- Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful insights and commentary to clients.
- Oversee bookkeeping, VAT returns, and other routine accounting activities for client portfolios.
- Review the work of junior team members, providing guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback.
- Support the development and training of junior staff to ensure high standards of technical competence and client service.
- Build strong client relationships and respond promptly to client queries and requests.
- Lead client meetings to discuss management accounts, financial performance, and operational improvements.
- Assist clients with the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing use of cloud accounting and finance software.
- Identify opportunities to improve client finance processes, systems, controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Support the implementation of digital solutions, automation tools, and best-practice workflows.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with firm procedures, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor workflow and deadlines across assigned clients, ensuring service levels are consistently achieved.
- Collaborate with managers and partners to deliver high-quality outsourcing services and identify opportunities for additional support or advisory services.

Person Specification
- Qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or qualified by experience, with previous experience in an accounting, management accounts, bookkeeping, or outsourcing role, ideally within an accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing management accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns, month-end processes, and supporting a portfolio of clients.
- Proven ability supervise, coach, and support the development of junior team members.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cloud software, including Xero, Fathom, Dext, Telleroo.
- Experience with software integrations, automation solutions, advanced Excel functionality, and digital finance tools would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting within client finance functions.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering quality work.
