Corporate Tax Senior Manager

Your Role: Payroll Supervisor

As a Payroll Supervisor, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality outsourced payroll services to a diverse range of clients. You will manage the end-to-end processing of multiple client payrolls on a weekly and monthly basis, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. You will act as the main point of contact for payroll clients, responding to queries professionally and providing excellent service. You will review and approve payroll calculations, statutory payments, pension contributions, and adjustments before final submission, and maintain HMRC compliance, including RTI submissions, tax codes, and statutory reporting.

You will also support clients with onboarding, system setup, and understanding payroll processes, liaising with client accountants, bookkeepers, HR representatives, and pension providers as required. Preparing payroll summaries, reports, and year-end documentation will form part of your responsibilities, alongside identifying opportunities for process improvements and supporting our software transition. Accurate record-keeping and data security in line with GDPR will be essential, and you will provide guidance and support to other payroll team members.

Your Mission

What you’ll be doing day to day

You will manage multiple payrolls simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and professional service. Supporting clients and colleagues will be central to your role, and you will contribute to the smooth running of the payroll bureau, helping to drive improvements and maintain compliance at every stage.

Who You’ll Work With

The people you’ll collaborate with

You will work closely with all Client Directors, clients, every member of the Fiander ETL team, our tax team, and HMRC, building strong relationships and fostering collaboration across the business.

What You’ll Bring

Skills and experience we’re looking for

You will have proven experience in payroll, ideally within an accountancy practice or bureau environment, and a strong working knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, auto-enrolment, and UK payroll legislation. Experience with Staffology and/or IRIS payroll software is beneficial but not essential. You will be highly organised, able to manage high-volume, multi-client workloads, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Confident communication and strong client service skills, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive data professionally, are essential for success in this role.

What We Offer

The benefits and support you’ll receive

Being part of the ETL GLOBAL group gives us access to extensive resources both in the UK and internationally, enhancing the support and opportunities we can offer to our clients and our people. At Fiander ETL, you will join a director-led, independent practice that values collaboration, personal growth, and work-life balance, helping you build a career you can be proud of.

Our Values

We prioritise people and relationships, both internally and with clients, delivering advice and services that maximise efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and tax benefits. Integrity, professionalism, and respect underpin everything we do.
